Today Mason and I are celebrating our first full month as a working team. We are still getting to know each other but I have earned his trust and loyalty and there is no shortage of that to go around with this dog.
I got my second official alert last night, and it was a big one. Not only did he give me 17 minutes advanced notice, he stuck with me through the various stages of the episode, and never left my side for even a second, despite its scary moments. I just hope that I can give back what he has offered to me so completely. I feel a great responsibility on my shoulders and I won’t let him down.
He has handled himself like a true professional. Amazing Tails did a great job matching us together and professionally trained Mason to be a great service dog. I am fortunate to be calling myself a partner with such an amazing creature.
Thank you, Joanie, for being so incredible at what you do. No words can describe the excitement, relief, and feelings of freedom this match has brought into my life. We still have a lot to improve upon but we are off to a great start. BTW, we also discovered that he likes loud electronic music parties and crazy costumes. He will have plenty of amusement in his future.
